Day 66 · Proverbs 15:1–4 · Berean Standard Bible

A gentle answer

The next five days pay attention to words. Today’s passage is short enough to carry into a difficult conversation. A reply can add heat, or it can leave room for someone to hear. Gentleness is not the same as agreeing with everything. You may need to say no or correct a claim. The question is whether you can do that truthfully, without using humiliation as an extra weapon. You are responsible for your words, not for controlling another person’s response.

Proverbs 15:1–4

1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.

3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.

4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
